After two years in Canada talking about how great wine is for a living, Shiraz & Shenanigans is starting a new chapter. Don’t feel too bad for me, while it was a pretty sweet gig, I was definitely ready to re-join reality and give my liver a well-earned break.
In my new job the goal is still the same – to get people drinking my wines – just in a more tactical, marketing kinda way than a ‘here try this’ kinda way.
The job is just one part of the change though. I’ve moved to Sydney, and wowie, do I have a task ahead of me: Sydney-Siders are like the perfect beings.

Every person here looks like they just walked off the set of Home and Away. They do Hot Yoga in the mornings, dress like models and I actually saw someone eat spinach for breakfast the other morning.
I mean, you could convince me to do yoga but DRY, RAW SPINACH FOR BREAKFAST!?

My defence mechanism was to make a big joke out of how pathetic I am; flaunting how much I can barely even make it up my apartment stairs, or just how much maple syrup would have to be available to convince me to go anywhere near leafy greens at 8am.

But I knew if I was being honest with myself, I do wish I had a few of these Sydney-sider traits.
I mean, I did put on more weight than I care to mention in my little Wine Ambassador stint… and my body could probably use some vegetables after my diet of poutine and maple syrup. I could even go full Devil Wears Prada and learn how to dress like a superstar

There’s many more tasks at hand trying to navigate the city that is Sydney – like choosing a side of the bridge to live on like it’s the bloody Montagues vs. the Capulets, and hearing people talk about football but not mean AFL EVEN THOUGH WE’RE IN AUSTRALIA.
I’ll blog my way through it, if nothing else for my own amusement.
Expect some shiraz, plenty of shenanigans, and a self-deprecating account of how I try to make it as a Sexy and Stylish Sydney-Sider.

I have honestly LOVED every blog post you’ve made in the last three or so years! Looking forward to this new one! Hoping for lots of stories about exciting adventures I wish I’d done more of!
Thanks so much! They keep myself entertained so it’s nice to know people enjoy following along too! Haha
Always a bit of a laugh I’m amongst your descriptions. Looking forward to your future posts.
