Truly old wine grape vines are few and far between, and great ones are a rarity. After the pest phylloxera decimated most old European plantings, Barossa became home to some of the oldest vines in the world. These thick, rugged trunks that have stood the test of time can develop precious fruit if cared for and respected over the ages, if only a few bunches per plant.
