Hi there,

My name is Kara and I am a 22 year old fitness professional. I have an extensive background in health and exercise and am also a qualified exercise and sport’s scientist (in short – lets just say I am a little more qualified than your average PT out of a 6-12 month course!).  I have worked with semi elite athletes and many social country clubs as a strength and conditioning coach (mainly in soccer and AFL). At present I am working full time at Virgin Active health club in Melbourne as a personal trainer, and I love it!

As a triathlete I know what it’s like to follow a training program for fitness. I know how hard it is to get motivated sometimes to

get out there and go for your run or gym session after work or study. And I definitely know what it’s like to follow a boring gym program that doesn’t get you the results you are looking for!

I know how to train my body consistently enough so that I don’t burnout and I gain maximum results from each session, no matter what day it is.  My number one rule that goes with any successful training program is stick to a recovery routine! The most important aspects of recovery is your nutrition (what you eat on a daily basis) and your sleep. Proper recovery is essential for maximum results from your training. We will talk more about this in the training program outline, and what you can expect to get out of the program if you dedicate yourself to it.

‘Taking it to the next level” fitness program will introduce you to an enhanced and very rewarding way of life when it comes to your health and fitness. No more bland gym sessions where you have to lift weights and do cardio for more than an hour 5 days of the week! My sessions are short, sharp and will get you those gains fast!

The weekly program will encompass:

    • 2 high intensity resistance training circuits for upper and lower body regions
    • 2 all over body functional strength training circuits. These sessions will focus on exercises that simultaneously use multiple muscles and joints to improve muscular endurance, overall strength, coordination, balance, posture and agility — to get a challenging, effective and fun full-body workout as well as prepare the body for everyday activities and the exercises you will be doing in your high intensity circuits.
    • 1 strength and stretch session. You will need weights for some exercises in the strength part, so for those who don’t have a gym membership, you can either purchase a casual pass to your local gym or you can do it in the comfort of your own backyard/home or park with a couple of bricks or buy your own weights online (super cheap for a few pairs of dumbells).
